@verb Yes, you are correct, I believe it is our responsibility to aid the newcomers however we can. As I mentioned, I'm more than happy to have the conversation again. You never know when someone will chime in with something new that I wasn't aware of. I'm more than happy to have that conversation, but, as I also said I took a leap of faith/skepticism and gave it a try believing it would be returned. Same as with the Wireworld cabling, although that would have been sold rather than returned. That was a risk I was willing to assume and I feel I was rewarded.

You know, you could ask "how exactly does a posi trac rear end on a plymouth work?"

Sorry about that @dragon1952, it looks like our posts crossed in transit. I always enjoy hearing about people's first hand experience, so that's why I reacted negatively to a dismissive "There's probably quite a bit you don't know" type post.

Ha ha...yeah, I started off with a long, drawn out post myself but decided that those 4 words summed it up pretty well. I've been experimenting with different cables and tweaks of all sorts for 40 plus years and, like anyone else that has can attest, I've come to the conclusion that you can't rely on what might make sense theoretically because we'd be pretty naive to believe that "we" (the experts in any field...take your pick) know all there is to know about how **** works.

You guys got me reconsidering the PS Audio Dectet. I'm going to give PS Audio a call next week and see if they have answers to some questions I have about it.

They're snug enough to make me believe there's very good contact without being a nuisance - you need a firm grip and need to brace the Dectet when removing. But I wouldn't necessarily call it a vise.

The P3 seems to have a slightly firmer grip, which is curious - I thought both units used the same Power Port outlets. It may be my skewed perception or differences in plugs? Not sure.

I'm a little confused at all of Furman's offerings, like Reference vs. Elite and their sub models.

From a strictly 2 channel music standpoint, which Furman is the absolute best for audio?

I'm enjoying the used PS Audio PowerPlay 9000 I got off the 'bay. Hard to do an A/B comparison with my Chang Lightspeed, but I can tell there is certainly no step backwards. From this pic, you can see I'm getting 124V from the wall, and apparently 1.9%THD (not sure how this is calculated), and only 16W total being drawn ATM from my Logitech SBT, Peachtree Audio novaPre, and McCormack DNA-125, at moderate volume. Phono preamp was on as well.

I liked the vibe and attitude I got from the gentleman I spoke with at PS Audio. He was able to answer all of my questions, and was very friendly. His positive attitude is basically what solidified my decision to go with PS Audio. It's remarkable the influence that good vs. poor customer service can have.

After I get the Dectet going, I'll be thinking about possible power cord upgrades. I've heard that upgrading the power cord for your primary source makes the most impact and difference.

Maybe I should make a new thread for some power cord discussions.

Yes, the most difference, versus upgrading the PC on preamp, amp, etc.

I already have WW Eclipse 7 and Equinox 7 ICs and AQ Bedrock SCs.
