Power Strip with IEC Inlet?

DaveHoDaveHo Posts: 1,811
Wall warts, I've got a bunch of them. Phono-pre, speed box, Ethernet switch, powered USB HDD, Chromecast. Given their size, they cannot be plugged into my power conditioner without the use of short(1 ft) extension cords. What I am wanting is a quality power strip to plug these into.

My wants are:

1) Detachable inlet cord. It will be piggy backed onto the conditioner. No need for a 10ft cord or surge protection.
2) Outlet spacing to accommodate the warts.
3) A couple USB ports would be nice.

I don't think an audiophile geared piece is warranted for wall warts. Cost, less than $50 not including the cord.

So far all I've come up with is this, and it really doesn't fit my needs:

https://amazon.com/gp/product/B0094BC32Y/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1OE7CV49TO1OJ

I'm not wanting a piece of pro gear that's designed to be rack mounted. There's got to be something else out there.

Thanks! However, only 2 receptacles. Really need a minimum of 4 since the chromecast is the only one that's USB powered.

Yeah, this is a tricky product you're looking for. Found this but it's above your budget:

Signal Cable... just ask for a custom length (re 1 foot).

It looks like that would still be a clearance problem with large wall worts.

Thanks for the suggestions. Thinking about DIY'ing it.

I think I'm going to go with the Furman PlugLock.

    furmanpower.com/product/12a-power-distribution-strip-no-surge-protection-5-spaced-outlets-wbrackets-5ft-cord-PLUGLOCK

No IEC inlet but the cord is sorta short @ 5ft, plus it's 14awg, so plenty thick for my intended purpose. There might be room to retrofit an IEC or I can likely shorten the captured cord without much trouble.

Now to wait and see if the eBay seller will accept my offer.

Due to HVAC, I couldn't put an outlet where my amp and subs are. So I split a duplex outlet for two 20A amp circuits.

I bought this four outlet aluminum box on ebay and stuffed it with goodies from Douglas Connection. 10 gauge wire from wall to box, box came with IEC cutout in end for extension. They had longer and larger square sizes at the time.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the Furman on the way. It will work well for the wall wart application.
