    Time for her to retire.

Should've used a dolly or hand truck to get it off the truck and up to the door. Since when does UPS advocate rolling a package like that?

Yet another reason why I will only use FedEx if possible.

I'm surprised they didn't just immediately refuse the shipment, and have her roll it right back down to the truck.

At least they had a nice high resolution video to submit with the shipping insurance claim.

This is the standard version of the latest 180g 3-record set/release/pressing from the nin.com store. The store had major issues getting these newer releases out to those, like me, who preordered them. The site has periodically been “under maintenance” ever since. The previous release/pressing is said to be not very good. I can’t find any faults with these. I just need a better cart and a SUT to take full advantage! lol.

Yeah, that's the one. I think they branded it the definitive edition. I wanted to do the preorder as soon as they announced it but (luckily it turns out) I didn't have the cash. I heard about the delays but then kind of forgot about it. Hopped on their site not long ago when I ran into some cash and it was available to ship immediately. This just might be the first album I spin once I get my new setup put together.

    This falls in under..

    * Other gizmos, speed adjust, pitch, anti skip, etc.

I was trying different turntables and often didn't have protractors for them. This also allowed for marking and drilling arm board - spindle center to center.

I was a beta tester for the 25 watt Phoenix power supply. The Lenco has a high torque motor, ~ 22 watts. Previously he only offered a 6 and 15 watt controller, IIRC. Adding the RoadRunner tach meant having platter speed automatically controlled.

The Lenco has 4 speeds. You moved the idler postion for 16, 33, 45 and 78. I olny need 33 and 45, so now I push a button between 33 and 45 speeds instead of moving the idler.

Sadly he retired and closed shop. His approach was better than some of the previous high dollar analog speed controls. Ones that shifted speed as they warmed up.

It doesn’t see a lot of use in the basement, but it works every time I use it. It was in nice shape, all it needed was a belt, clean and lube. The belt had melted onto the pulleys from age. I view it as more of a curiosity than a daily driver.

It sounds pretty good, but it can be bested by a horizontal table. You have a long main bearing lying on its side and what can be a finicky arm to repair if it gives you trouble.

I used to bring it upstairs after folks were intoxicated. If they never seen one before, reactions could be amusing. Heck, sober folks have done great double takes…lol

    The innards...actually pretty well constructed.
