Ordered a pair of their older towers 2050i. Excellent reviews, but obviously never heard. Should be here Tuesday.

Have these running for around 4 hrs. Nice all around speaker. Does some things better than others. Huge soundstage for their size. Very nice mids with a polite top end. Not a ton of bass, but electric bass is there and accurate. Soft mid kick, so i wouldnt call them punchy. Does jazz, acoustics very well, but more involved Rock leaves me wanting a bit more.

Solid design and fairly heavy for their size. 6 ohm, but 92 db makes them easy to drive and fine at low volumes.

Overall, so far, seems like a bargain at $400.00 brand new. I can see these excelling at HT duty as well.

So Q designs speakers now? Do they shoot flames out of the ports if someone tries to play rap through them? :p

I’ve heard of them. Never had ears on them but they were in contention for a new set of speakers after I move. I was looking into the 3020 bookshelf speakers. I know they were offering $100 off the towers putting them at $799 new. Where did you find them for $400? That seems like a heck of a bargain. Get an SVS sub to handle the deep bass and you’ll be in for a treat me thinks.
    Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro
    HT: Samsung QN90B * Marantz NR1510 * Panasonic DMP-BDT220 * Roku Ultra LT * APC H10

They are the 2050i towers. Predecessor to the 3050 towers. Similar specs. New model has reworked woofers and a slightly different tweet.

After about 6 weeks, these have rounded out nicely. The lack of midbass energy was due to how tight the spiders were. Never seen a pair of speakers with drivers so tight. Really aired em out for about an hour with bass heavy tracks. Plenty of movement now, even at lower volumes.

Really itching to compare these to the S55. Maybe if they come up on F&F sale.

I've no doubt that these are fully broken in. Blend very well with the new sub at 60hz. Just a great all around speaker at a good price. Elusive, seductive tone at low volumes, which i listen to a lor. I hope someone takes a leap on the bookies at least and would love to hear other opinions.

I have the 3020i bookies and 3090c downstairs in my living room 5.1 setup. Around 300 for the front 3, not bad at all. I liked the the signature s20/s35 combo better but that’s over double the cost. The build quality is real nice for such inexpensive new speakers and they look attractive to boot

Cool. I havent heard the 3000 series yet. The build quality is nice for sure. Ya, S20s are also 6 1/2" so om sure there is a bit more output. Im just digging the relaxed tone of the 2050i towers.

I meant to say 2020i, same series as yours just the bigger bookies. I had to get the 3090 center because the earlier center wouldn’t fit height wise in the center spot. Either way, great cheap speakers all around

I think so. Sound better than some more expensive speakers i had in here.
  • I just replaced my tsi400's ($400/pair) with Q Acoustics 3050's I got used for $500. I'm super impressed with them - super efficient. Fit and finish on the grey graphite finish models is superb. I liked the tsi400's as home theater speakers, but they fell short on music reproduction (running a Denon AVR-S940H). The Q's are in another league. I'm seeing them for $645/pair new. The 3050i's are around $799/pair. Still love Polk, but the Q's are really outstanding at their price point and worth an audition.

What Hi-Fi has compared them to numerous British mid-fi speakers. Sort of a bang for the buck type thing. I like my 2050i but am moving on.

Got my interest peaked. The 3050i is $899.99 a pr what's the difference between that and the Concept 500 other than the Audiophike $5100 price difference?

And the 3050 non-i is $684.99, looks to be decent for a box speaker.

I've heard nothing other than my towers, but they are doing well in a very competitive market, so must be making them right and efficiently.
