San Diego Gathering - CDP Shootout 18'?

Thinking I might try to throw together a gathering in the next month or two (not to take away from or conflict with the SoCal gathering @nooshinjohn has been working on). I just purchased a Sony C333ES CD/SACD player and still have an Oppo BDP-83 Special Edition (has the upgraded 2 channel DAC's). Looking to see if anyone else in the area wants to bring a CDP, compare players and enjoy some good music with fellow polkies. Those that can't or don't want to bring a player are welcome too. I can support 4 players connected to the Pass Labs X1. Let me know if there's any interest. You can see what 2 channel gear is on hand here for the event in my signature.

Just FYI, the last time I did this, @Erik Tracy brought his CDP and we found that it would have been nice to have different IC's to compare the players so we can throw that in the mix as well.

Throw out some possible dates if interested.

    Wish you could have this in September me and the wife will be in La,Mesa would not mind meeting you and hanging out with Eric again. Maybe an excuse for another gathering.

    Yes @Erik Tracy's Marantz Black Pearl is a beautiful piece of gear. Top notch quality. IMO we needed better matching ICs to really bring out the differences in players last time. Hoping we can figure out a way to make that happen this time.

    I get to SD every couple of weeks. Would enjoy stopping by and meeting. Not sure I'd bring my BDP as the guy I bought it from is evidently bringing its replacement!

I actually sold off my bedroom two channel rig gear and SRTs a few years ago and moved the 2.3tls to the home theater after doing a side by side comparison with the SRTs. @nooshinjohn brought his pass labs x1 pre down to a meet and I was so blown away at how good the 2.3s sounded with it that I picked up an x1 myself and am running a combo 2 channel / HT setup with them now.

    Lol yes I remember well how your carver statements grabbed the 2.3s and took them on the ride of their lives. Maybe someday I will get back into tubes. Right now I'm enjoying the energy and wallet friendly efficiency of the Sunfire.

    Pass Labs make some good products, love the looks of the x-0.2 and XP-30's.

    @nooshinjohn installed Larry's rings before I bought them from him. He sold them to me with @gimpod boards and I did all the xo and other mods after buying them. Only things I haven't done to them are replacing internal wiring and inductors. I think since you were here, I did the dynamat and added the dreadnought.
