They basically match or beat many of amazons prices and you can walk in the store, look at the item, talk to an idiot who knows nothing about it, and walk out with it that day. Well, 3 out a 4 ain’t bad ;-)

I bought my last tv there a few months ago...

Best Buy is doing quite well last I looked at the market. Shares are up 77 percent in the last 12 months. They moved heavily online as well.

Many years ago I used to be in their stores every week for music and movie purchases, but that was before things moved online. Now it's maybe twice a year.

I usually buy big screen TVs from Best Buy and get the extended warranty. Paid off big time twice for me. Appliances tend to come from them too, and the occasional Blu Ray.

Amazon starting to charge sales tax in Virginia was a big win for other companies.

Amazon also charges sales tax in Texas. No difference really except the tv I ordered from amazon was smashed by FedEx, while the one from Best Buy I brought home myself. Surprise! It was in perfect shape...

I've seen damaged TVs from online retailers and Best Buy as well. Perfectly intact boxes and cracked screens. It can happen anywhere a human is involved - shipping, warehouse, etc...
