Some Winter Projects

Just finished up a couple of Winter Projects. Built a new TT Rack and moved it to side of the room, had a pesky Heat Vent above the Table in the former position, spewing out Dry Air and Dust. Lowered the Center Rack also, this has helped clean up the Center Image a bit.

Also finished up a pair of CRS+'s, just received back the X-Overs from "The Man" Dave yesterday, have them hooked up and playing Music. I can't get over how much sound comes out of these boxes! Accompanied by Rythnik F8 Subs, the CRS's sound really, really good!

I stripped the Vinyl covered cabinets and Veneered with a Birds Eye Maple, some Cherry Stain and a few coats of Clear Poly later.

Sometimes I see plants near speakers, is it a type of acoustic treatment?

Room and speakers look great, I immediately want to bring over several records to test everything :)

So are you running XLR from your TT to your preamp? I’d love to see how everything’s connected as it looks super cool!

Thanks for the Positive comments, yes I do all the House Keeping as well :) my Phono Preamp doesn’t have Balanced Outputs, so I have some Audio Sensibility, 5 meter RCA I/C’s to the Linestage Pre.

I can not hear any signal loss from the TT’s previous location, moving the TT and lowering the Center Rack has really cleaned up the Imaging, I might end up with all the gear in the new Rack and just have the Amps in the center.

The Plants are for astetics and color! Can’t tell if they bring anything else to the table. Bring your LP’s and I’ll have the Refreshments ready!

Wow, I figured 5m RCA's would cause some issues. Good to know its not the case (as I'm potentially headed that route shortly lol.....

You also have me wondering if I shouldn't do the same thing for my setup and leave my 5 channel amp, and my 2 Crown amps in the middle and then locate all my source gear in the corner out of the way. Would free up some space for a project I'm working on. Then I'd just XLR from my preamp to my B&K and Crowns and be good.

Sounds like a plan, I did a “test run” before I decided to make the move, and liked what I heard, so I proceeded to get to work. I’m going to try moving the Linestage and other gear to the side next and using the long I/C’s from the pre to the amps and see what that brings.

Thanks again, everyone! The CRS+'s have the 4.1TL Upgrade, they are amazing! I had a previous pair with the 4.1TL Upgrades, and like the Fool that I am, I sold them! I came across another pair and decided to turn them into "keepers"

I've been working on the Room for over two years, it's always been a "Work in progress". I'm an extreme amateur at working with Wood, but I enjoy making pieces that incorporate into the Audio Obsession :)

The Panels were also a DIY Project, made out of 1"x2" Frames, mine are 2'x4' and 2'x2', filled with Corning 703 Rigid Insulation, which comes in 2'x4'x2" sheets.

I just finished the Bass Traps a few months ago, they took a little more effort. Very simple stuff, bought the 703 and the Burlap Covering from https://www.atsacoustics.com/
