plenty of break in time may be required before they sound their best but I sure like my LSiM’s now

Wow I can't believe the prices here. If I hadn't just spent $1k buying used Lsi speakers I would be all over this. It seems like the older Lsi are hard to move so I'm reluctant to "upgrade" and then get stuck with two home theater setups. The better half is tolerant but I think I'd be in a bit of trouble if I filled the hose with speakers

I am upgrading some 20+ year old speakers. I figure by the time I am ready for new ones, it will be another 20 years or more. Finding this deal keeps me in the Polk camp and feeling good about the purchase. I plan to run continuous music for the first few days.

Quite the deal. Instead of ordering the above choices I went with the LSiM707 combo package with the Yamaha receiver .

My wife is gonna flip, but it's too sweet of a deal to pass up.

I just ordered this exact package and waiting for them to arrive. How are you liking the speakers and are you running it them on the 2070 alone?

Somebody help me find these deals on the Adorama website. I can't seem to find them. The links above work, and I see those deals. Are there more packages?

Hmm, wonder how close I could get to breaking even after flipping the 707's, center, and surrounds.

Well after a quick browse of completed listings on ebay it looks like 2k is a reasonable expectation for the 707's. Didn't look into the center or surrounds yet, mainly because I don't have the upfront money right now anyway. I'm sure they'd fall short of closing the 1200 gap, but considering that would leave me with the 703's and a great receiver I'm sure I could handle it. Just have to hope the deal's going on through tax return season...

    I have considered getting the $1500 deal on 705's 703's and 706 https://www.adorama.com/pklsm705mvcb.html?emailprice=t&utm_source=rflaid912524
The use the 705's as side or rear surrounds in place of my 702's and use the other 703's for my PC speakers. Then sell the 702's and spare 706c.

That's a long way to go to for just the 703's. As you can see on eBay many are selling off speakers from the F&F sale as well as the Adorama deals. There are some good prices on there so a local sale would be the ticket.

Anyway, if you purchased the $1,999.99 package.....even if you sold the 707's for $1400, the 702's for $500, and the $706c for $350 that's $2250! You get to keep the 703's for free plus $250 in your pocket!

Good luck, but its a risk depending on where you are located.

Good point. I didn't want to deal with storing the towers and centers and trying to flip/move them, so I just picked up my 703s directly from Polk with the 50% off F&F deal.

I also felt slightly better about supporting Polk directly.

Good point in the local sale. I'm about an hour away from both Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham NC, so I might be able to find a market. In my first scenario I'd get a nice Yamaha avr as well, but smaller scale probably would be the way to go. Like I said though, it's not really a consideration until tax return time anyway so I'd have more time to research if I do follow through. But I appreciate the input!

Right now I've seen 703's sell for $450-$550 so no need to wait for the F&F sale unless you want to buy new from Polk direct.

I am very close to taking the plunge on the 707 bundle ($2,399). I have an Onkyo 806 that has served me well for a few years. My question is: will I immediately need an amp, or will the 806 do an ok job until I can find a good amp?

Looks like I am about to buy another bundle with 705's 703's and a 706c. I'll use the 705's for rears and have a spare set of 703's for pc speakers. Just would need to sell my 702's and spare 706c. With my room configuration and the need for adding ear level speakers, I can't hang the 702's.

and the 702's could g to another poor dude that loves the rounded shape soo much that I found another affordable speaker the Artison Portrait LRS with a similar shape.

    Artison-Portrait-LRS-0-400x321.jpg

The 702's have intrigued me for so long...but even at F&F $750 price they were too steep for my budget. I missed a CL deal for a set in the $300 price range. I also love the 706 center as well. I sold my LSiM stuff with the idea that I would build some big , high performing ribbon tweeter based DIY designs. That has not happened and I don't know if or when. Maybe I'll go back to the LSiM's?

I have no issues with the shape of them. Just hard to find a good mounting location at ear level. I have been struggling with the idea of putting 705's in the rear. Might start a new thread on any practical use for rear towers in HT.

The 806 was about the last generation of Onkyo products with decent power. I think you'll be fine. I'd advise you to consider the 705 bundle if there is one.

Yes, the 806 is certainly a workhorse. I did consider the 705 bundle, but for a few extra hundred, I thought I’d go for the 707’s, which will give me future options for music listening that may or may not include a sub.

Just curious: Is your suggestion based on the fact that I don’t have an amp, or for another reason? I ask because I am also looking for a used 3-5 channel amp.

    BTW, thanks for your advice.
