Due to the coming of age of the boomer's which is also the time of the pioneers of hifi we will probably lose more sooner than we'd like.

Well, we've lost the consumer hifi pioneers already (Scott, Fisher, Marantz, Klipsch, and their colleagues and collaborators)... Sidney Harman (love 'im or hate 'im) lived to a very ripe old age (and stayed in the game, too). Villchur also lived a long life. The last of the truly Old Guard -- from my perspective -- was Roy Allison, who died this past year.

The generation that're passing now are their heirs.

Besides Shahinian and Nudell, Ayer Acoustics' redoubtable Charles Hansen died in the past couple of weeks, as well.
