In the past most NFL teams remained in the locker rooms until the national anthem was over. It was the DOD who started giving the NFL millions of dollars in order to promote the military by having players present during the ceremony.

Follow the money, don't be blind.

Yeah I read that article. $10 million over 3 years was paid out for NFL ceremonies and expensed as recruitment costs. That’s money well spent for recruiting IMO and really no money at all considering the DoD’s annual operating budget for FY17 was $600 billion.

  • FYI the DoD hasn’t paid the NFL for ceremonies since 2015.

It was posted somewhere that the NFL has a guideline handbook or something that says the players have to be on the field, helmets in left hand, standing and facing the flag.

Kaepernick is suing NFL now. WOW. How can he fight street injustice while fighting employment injustice. Unbelievable !
Now what about all the hundreds of players that were cut after preseason games. They might have been good players too.
Do they get a shot at suing the NFL too ?

It's almost like this protest went in a different direction and Kaepernick needs to get the spotlight back on him.

I don't blame the teams, I wouldn't hire him either.

I’d make him play for the Browns for a season so he can gain some perspective.

Hey, good point. That would be a solution to the NFL's dilemma. He said he's stand if given a job. What would his kneeling team mates think of him then ? Could he turn the losing streak around ?

I guess we'll never see the National Anthem played at an NFL football game on TV ever again.

My wife and I missed the Monday Night game. We didn't even think about the miss until last night at 8:00 PM. My wife brought it up.

Now we liked NFL games and my wife ran a football pool for 15 years. The participants got smaller and smaller . This year nobody even wanted to participate except 3 people. One being my wife, 2 being her older sister and third, a girl who has a skill at picking a lot of winners over the years. Used to be 25...

My wife closed her NFL pool this year.
