So -- I think it's only fair to encapsulate my history here.

Youz guys are funny. Funny thing is, I've had those Emerson and York pieces of junk back in the day. Way way back. lol Turbo thruster speakers too, remember those ?

    Polkster,

In case you've noticed, we like to rib each other quite a bit. So if any happens to come your way, it's all in good fun, don't take anything personal. Good group of guys here with vast experiences. Except Russ/Lightman, we aren't sure yet if he's even of the human species. Once you meet him though, you'll have a yankerin' to watch all those "in search of Bigfoot" documentaries. :)

Oooooh, trust me when I say I love to give and take some ribbing. Just let me know if I step over the line. :). It might not get me to stop, I just like to know where that line is.

I guess my replacement job using a wood chisel to fit a Pyle woofer into the spot of a Pioneer woofer wouldn't be considered good enough for you guys. :)

I'm sure it was an improvement.

Since the Pioneer woofer developed some issue where it rattled with some frequencies, it was a major improvement. I was irritated that the Pyle 12" woofer was bigger than the Pioneer 12" woofer. :)

Well what do you know. I had no idea you were a vintage speaker afficionado Bud.
I don't blame you if you weren't, what with the quality of gear you have.

LOL. Not a vintage aficionado Jose, just old. :)

They were my first 'good' speakers. Pioneer CS-A700. Bought them around 74-75 while working at Dart Drug in MD, and making a $1.75/hr. I forgot the price, but remember it took months of saving while living for free at home. In those days, I had my stereo working great after I added these. One person liked it so much they bought the 15" version of this line thinking it would be even better than mine. It wasn't. LOL. Now, I think the sound difference was between rooms and setup. I was in the basement where I could arrange things to suit me. His stereo was in the living room, along the the long wall, and opening to the dining/kitchen/upstairs area.

They were here when you came by, but in the next house purge of 2016 they were trashed.
