Gotta love this forum.

I'm relatively new to this forum, or any forum for that matter. I'm like many people who browse through the subjects without really participating. Recently I signed up and posed a question about extra surrounds for my old SDA's. It took a short while for a response, but when the members responded oh boy did they respond. I needed additional pairs of rare in wall speakers to match some I had, but could not find any more no matter how hard I tried. A lot of help was offered. Two members in particular, FestYBoy and nooshinjohn went above and beyond and found, purchased and offered me the option of buying them. Festy even went so far as to do a full inspection on them.

How many forums will you find that level of community? Not many from what I've seen. If you're reading this post and arent a member, sign up now and participate. I think you'll have the same great experience I've had..

Cheers.

Agree with Tony on this one. When Tony first came to the forum, he was perfectly happy with his Emerson all in one system that had cassette and 8-track and now look at him. Legacy's Joule, Butler....

I believe that was it! we need Tony to confirm but, if it wasn't exactly it, it was darn close I had the Panasonic version of the same thing.

Youz guys are funny. Funny thing is, I've had those Emerson and York pieces of junk back in the day. Way way back. lol Turbo thruster speakers too, remember those ?

    Polkster,

In case you've noticed, we like to rib each other quite a bit. So if any happens to come your way, it's all in good fun, don't take anything personal. Good group of guys here with vast experiences. Except Russ/Lightman, we aren't sure yet if he's even of the human species. Once you meet him though, you'll have a yankerin' to watch all those "in search of Bigfoot" documentaries. :)

Yorx? UTTER GARBAGE! Soundesign was where it was at. Does your Yorx have a disco ball? Does your Yorx have lights that flash in time with the music? I didn't think so. B)

Funny, I remember saving my paper rout money to buy a York. My dad made me get this Made in Japan Sansui with some Jensen speakers. Took me an extra year to save for it.

Kids down the street had the Disco ball unit. Man they thought they were the stuff.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

If Matt Polk had called his passive radiators vibra-cones instead of referring to fourth-order Butterworth loading of the driven cones -- why, he mighta amounted to something!

^^I have snorted that out of women's belly buttons. Man, I miss those days.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

Yeah my pops would not let us buy the junk when it came to audio. When I heard that york I was like really you paid for that.

For players he only let us get turntable or r2r. no cassette decks.

Only bummer he let my brother buy this nice gear but whenever we cranked it I had to turn it down.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
