Favorite 2 channel rig for Live Dead

Just curious what 2 channel rigs folks have or have had that excel at playing live dead.

    the usual:

Frankenduplexes (Altec/JBL-EMILAR/Fostex drivers/horns, at least at the moment)
Single-ended 2A3 amplification (Bottlehead Paramours at the moment, as my "normal" 2A3 amp is currently under the weather*).

The new 5/8/77 Cornell University release (on CD) sounds really, really wonderful on these. Really wonderful.

Is that the sitting dead or the Walking Dead? When I'm walking and listening to the Dead I use my Zen Nano Mp3 player powered by a hum-less AA battery. I usually do not use the term "live" when I listen to the dead because, well, after all, they are dead. I may on occasion refer to them as "Undead."

Okay funny guy. Obviously I meant recordings of live shows...While Jerry and Brent are long gone the music is still being played. Saw Dead&Co 2 weeks ago at the Hollywood Bowl and it was rocking.

Zen Nano with hum-less AA, sound like a fancy mobile music maker you have there.

The Bowl is a great venue though parking can be challenging. Yeah, the band isn't the same without Jerry and Brent but you have 3 of the original members doing mini tours as Dead and Co..

Not shopping for anything new was just curious what other members equipment preferences were.

    Thanks,

Looks to me like 3 individual, and identical racks with a piece of granite covering the top of all 3. Those Macs are no light weight. Great set-up, nice looks, positioned well. A good example of a dual purpose system.

Notice the handy flashlight on the coffee table.....that's to find his left nut after he cranks on that bad boy system. :)

Sorry for the late response and thread detail. I'm spending the week in Fiji.

Tonyb is correct. That is 3 Sanus Euro racks with additional sized pillars. Then a custom peice of granite. Fits together really well but is one heavy ****. I needed something that would carry the weight of the amps as they are 100+ lbs each. It provides great flexibility and storage. PM me if you would like additional details.

And no it does not have an iPod dock. But does have 3 DACs of different varieties.

Pics man, that's one place I need to go before I die.

I'd really like to try either Spatial M3 Turbo or Tekton Double Impacts. I don't really have the space for the DIs so it would be the Spatials for me, just waiting for the right opportunity to come along.

let me know if you do, The M3's are high on my list to want to get my ears on!

For a retreaded band they have balls the size of Texas to charge over a Hundy for just ok seats. Even if I could afford that I refuse to pay for not the original article. I saw them in their prime about 28x and holding. Almost the same deal as TCK w/ the Adcom GFA-555 and 2Bs w/ NAD 1020a pre, Denon 1941ci cdp. Europe '72 is high on the list and a great show was from Pembrook Pines Florida in '77. Not the commercial release which is not the full concert but the entire show broadcast on GD.NET.

Agreed the tickets are steep. Europe 72 is high on my list though I was in grade school. Around the same number of shows for me from 88-93. Thanks for sharing the components of your rig. I keep seeing used SDAs and would love to get my ears on them but certainly don't need more speakers :)
