Hey now!

The packaging was largely intact. These are refurb ones from Polk eBay store. One speaker looks totally brand new and not opened before, whereas the other one looked repackaged. Cosmetically both are flawless.
Took me a couple of hours to place them in my listening room with help from my son. Played some tunes today, and based on what I am hearing definitely a better balance on mid range than Lsim703s.

I unpacked and moved my 707's by myself..

Looks like your 705's came on a pallet, which is good. Polk sent my set via FedEx ground and the boxes were in pretty rough shape. Luckily, the speakers showed no sign of physical damage. They are heavy but can be managed by one person once they are in your living space. I guess that was the only good thing about having them sent via FedEx; the delivery driver and I carried the boxes inside so setup wasn't too bad.

My 707s came and and is unpacked!! I moved them myself wonder if the wife will notice.
First impressions, wow. Break-in period has started.

I almost pulled the trigger on a pair of 707s during the sale, but I decided to replace my ancient HT prepro instead (Sony TA-E9000ES/TA-P9000ES combo). I went with a Yamaha CX-A5100 prepro.

I'll let the 705s play for a few more months and catch the next sale at the end of the year. Everything I've read says the 705 is the better sounding speaker overall, but there is no substitute for hearing for yourself.

I'm guessing you looked at the specs for each model on the speakers page, saw that the overall for the 707's was 20Hz-40kHz and thought they really hit 20Hz. They don't. Unfortunately, Polk neglected to publish the -3dB points like they did for the 705, which is as follows.

Total Frequency Response22 Hz → 40 kHz
Lower and Upper -3dB Limits42 Hz → 30 kHz

Based on those specs one could guessimate that the -3dB for the 707 is around 40 to maybe 38Hz. Hardly subwoofer frequencies.
