Want TV, don't have a coax drop....

Ok you tech geeks, you saved my bacon on the 4G/LTE internet solution; so.........

I want DirecTV on my patio, but of course there's no coaxial run. I'm looking at solutions such as wireless HDMI xmit/rec devices like the Actiontec mywirelessTV system. Are there better solutions? Any ideas? My family room sat box would be in easy transmit range, as it leads right onto the patio....

I've just had problems over the years with RF based video transmissions, sometimes they work sometimes their glitchy

I believe you need a bridge though but I think there's a package deal for about $170

Just ordered the upgrade for our upcoming move. I got a bunch of discounts because we haven't upgraded in like 8 years. No installation fee. COOL.

Thanks. Got tired of all the maintenance out there, so we're moving closer to town. I also MISS my pool, so we're gonna fix that.

The wireless Genie works pretty well - the latest versions seem to have gotten rid of the "lag" and the sluggish program guide. We use one in my daughter's room. They will put a cisco router in place to setup it's own private wireless network.

Mowing, weed killing, non-stop in the summer months. I've got FISHING to do. Positioning ourselves for retirement soon. Taxes out there were rediculous too. Found a nice home in town on a 1/3 acre lot just screaming for a pool and small shop. Plenty big, w/ a 3-car garage and RV gate.

Good for you Steve. Gotta do what makes you happy. I remember how impressive the pics of your place were, but man it's gonna feel good to consolidate a bit.

    Good luck!

Bev is more excited than I am about the move. She's the fiscally responsible one in this family.

I'm gonna hook this new place up as well. Pool going in next spring, work shop going in this summer. My wife says my decorating skills make me borderline ghey, so she wants me to decorate again. I know....I don't know where it comes from, but I'm good at it.

We're actually alot closer to shooting land, so I'm pretty pumped about that, as I have 2 new guns I haven't shot yet (Glock 21 and a Walther PPQ).

@steveinaz This may be a moot point now (or if you are a fan of Friends a "moo" point, cuz as Joey says, "cows don't care"), but Roku finally has a DirecTV "channel". DirecTV Now

    https://www.yahoo.com/tech/m/c6bf691a-46e7-3a4e-844b-b9fa8bd5da45/ss_directv-now-lands-on-roku.html

EDIT: Oops, looks like that's a separate pay option. I thought it would free if you already had DirecTV.

I have to tip my hat to Sanyo. I have this 32" LCD HDTV which has been on the patio continously now for 7 years; 24/7 all seasons, and the thing still works fine.
