Well, Mhardy kept it in the audio realm. I'll have to rethink my beer mug design however. WMG is the inspiration.

Sorry, no innovative free-energy apparatus to report on. Just a MW side-project to my CRS project. Besides the usual power grab and sound mat addition, I clipped the extra mount tabs with some high torque diagonal cutters which did a splendid job. While doing so I thought some lightweight conical plastic stand-offs for the sound barrier/BH5 would be a nice solution for the CRS similar to what WMG posted about in his CRS build without having to add inner walls/bafles. The 5" dimension would probably be a little too long in a factory set CRS boxes...

The baffles were designed to mimic what we do to other SDAs/Monitors from the era, Dacron and BH5, without displacing anymore internal volume than necessary. Not sure how the cones would accomplish that.

I decided not to add extra inner baffles when they were built. 1" HDF and full billet fascia is heavy enough. The cones will displace @ 140cc ea. and the OD of the circular BH5 wont touch the passive.

Me too! It's like taking the caps off the stems of your tires and then saying, it's more aerodynamic.

I mean they are his to do with what he pleases, but seems like a complete waste of time, or maybe I'm not understanding entirely. The drawing and his explanation (and single photo) don't match up to me.

Can't claim an OCD diagnosis. A non-scientific good-old-fashioned explanation... I felt like it.
It would matter in an F1 car.... Saves a few grams wt. lol.

Science wise, doesn't the cone push and pull air molecules through the frame?

Hmmm.....it could be that they have an aerodynamic effect, directing the air flow and perhaps act as a damper for the backwards movement of the cone, kind of like an air brake, if you will. >:)

This side project is just shadowing what WMG did here. His baffles were 49 sq.in.
Mine will be 44 sq.in. but circular. Maybe more dia. if the Sonic barrier squeezes thru the MW holes without fuss....

I changed the 3" dimension that matches the MW magnet base OD.... 2.125"

Cones are now only displacing 100cc of air and the Aleens is setting the polypropylene perfectly...

I'll be using 2 pieces of 1/2" thick sound foam with self-adhesive sandwiched together at the base and they wont move....
