Does anyone know if the LS90's are shielded?

The spec. page doesnt have the info and I dont have a manual.

I would think its modern enough to put next to the TV for HT use.

Hmmm...did somebody buy the ones on AudiogoN???

Pull out a driver, look on the back and if it's got a extra magnet installed you're shielded, if not then you're not.

No mention of shiielding in the Library for the 90, 70 or 50...

You can e-mail Ken S for an answer as to how they came stock, but prior owner could have added bucking magnets, so may be best to check as F1 suggests...

You DO NOT want an unshielded pair of 90's right next to a standard TV monitor... One-way ticket to gauss city... A gap of as little as 1.5' to 2' may be all you need to weaken the magnetic field sufficiently...

The LS-90's should be shielded. I used to have a pair of LS-70's and they were shielded. I sold them here on the forum 4 or 5 years ago and I am still kicking myself in the **** over doing so. Just had a bad case of wanting to upgrade speakers. I would love to get them back. I can only imagine the 90's are even better. Enjoy.....

The LS90's are NOT shielded ... you put 'em close and you get color changes.

No beer here... must be at your end... but thanks, I'll be here all week...

Just hadn't posted with PW in a while and he's got one serious HT rig, in case you had not noticed...

With a RPTV you can put the 90's inside them and it won't matter... standard CRT's must fear the Magnetic Field Monsters...

    Tour,

    I'm good and you ?

Oh ... RP !? ... Guess that either wasn't mentioned or I didn't see it prior to my post.

I have a pair of 90's in another rig and they will, without modification, affect CRT's.

So PW, what do I need to do to modify them?

For the time being I want them up next to my projection HDTV so let me know what I need to do.

    Thanks!

Doing great, PW... Texas in the Fall is a wonderful place to be...

    NF,
No mod's needed... Rear Projections are immune to magnetic fields...
