I have a CS1000 for center, RT3000p's for the fronts. I currently have the RTA15tl's for my rears. I was thinking about getting new rears. Would the RTi70's be a good timbre match with the 3000p's? Would a Rt55 be a better match for surrounds? I can get the 55's or the 70's for the same price. I like SACD and DVD-A CDs and run my rears crossover at 40 Hz. What would you do? Thanks, Jeff

    Definitely the 55's,
They have the tri-lam as opposed to the silk-dome tweeter and will match your fronts much better than the 70's will.

Have you considered the RT800i as rear surrounds they too would match, and are like towers of the RTi70's. I use the RT800i as rear surrounds my self, and love the BASS these have in the rear.

I would love a set of 800's, but I haven't found any in my area. I really want top halves of the 3000p system, but I haven't seen any of those for a looong time.

Yes, CC has a couple of new ones for $149.00 and a couple of open box I am trying to get for $99.00. I am going to check today. I missed the opportunity on the 55's.

If you can get RTi70 for that $, that what the hell go forward.

I have RT800i in the rear now, but I have RTi150's front. They have different tweeters, but it's not too bad for me.... They are not day / night tweeters. I like the towers in the rear, so you my like the RTi70 in the rear even if the tweeters are not the same.

I picked up the 70'd for 99.96 each today. There is a decent scratch on the side of one and a dented corner on the side of the other. I am OK with that if they sound OK. I will try to demo tonight if possible. 4 kids, 10,8,18 months and 4 months make it hard!

I have listened briefly to them and they sound great. I can't really tell of a timbre problem. I sit about 10 feet in front of the rears and they sound terrific. I don't think they sound as good as the RTA15tl's, but they match the rest of my system.
