About several thousand dollars worth of super metal cassettes (at the roughly $40 to $50 each at going rate on ebay) + a couple hundred lesser type II chrome tapes. It's gonna get used :D Big Time!! I tend to like the sound of CD's transfered to tape. It'll save some wear on the precious LP's too :). I've never used a deck in this league before so we'll see when it get's here and tested mercilessly ;):p

I promised danger boy a tape of INXS 'Kick' a while back, time to fufill my promise!! Al has a great ear, so, we'll see what he thinks, since ya'll know him much better than me!

What is that thing and what is it used for?

Superb actually, I've never heard a cassette sound so perfect to the source. Old scratchy Elton John LP's with Dolby S are incredible :D. LP's in better shape with NR off even better, and yes, bright CD's gain an analog warmth, ahhhh! Much nicer!

The molded foam cast protected it perfectly :) The seller earned their shipping and handling fees, big time!

Sony UX-Pro with ceramic tape guide!! My favorite blank cassette of all time!!

You need to get some of those old-school TEAC reel-to-reel blank cassettes :D
