I can get the Polk Momo 6.5" comps for $90.00 off at Crutchfield or should I wait for their replacement?

I have the 6.5 db series in my front doors now and I would like something better.

I have an Alpine MRP-F450 amp with an Alpine 9887 HU.

    when you say "wait for their replacement" what are you referring to? Polk's new Mobile Monitor line or did you have a defective pair and they're sending you new ones? If its the latter, I'd definitely wait.

    I like the MOMO line because I think it has excellent value, but I'd expect their new line to be the same - So in that respect its really up to you whether or not you want to get the momo's or wait for their new line to become available.

    I'd guess that msrp would be pretty similar to the current momo line. They'd probably sell for more than the momo line at any retailer, because as soon as they come out they're gonna wanna get rid of the old line and stock the new line (at least thats usually the way it works).

    The MMC6500 is an excellent speaker and $90 for a set is an absolute steal!!!

    If that price includes warranty, thats still a good price. I bought mine a little over a year ago for the exact same price. I think they were on sale.

    Oops. I thought it was $90. Still, $180 for a $300 set of components that perform like a $500 set of components?! Still sounds like a steal to me!

    OK, I just ordered the Momo's form Crutchfield. Thanks for the input.

    Question.

    Should I leave my DB690's in the rear or replace them with my DB6500's?

    Would that give me better SQ as I know a lot of people don't like 6x9 speakers.

    I know everyone here says take out the rear speakers, but for now I'm going to leave them in.

    The setup is in a 2006 Mini Cooper S.

    Nice car! I'd say leave in your DB690. Since they're a larger speaker, they'll give off some decent midbass - even though the mmc6500 do a good job with that.

    I forgot to mention that I have a cheap 10" subwoofer in back with a 300 watt amp driving it. I'm going to replace it this fall with a better one and another amp, probably Alpine.

    Do you still have the same answer since I forgot to mention the SW?

    Well if you have a sub, I'd say it doesn't really matter too much whether or not your rear speakers have good midbass. That being said, any rear speakers will be fine. Many people make sure that the same line of speakers is used throughout their entire car, but its not necessary. Replacing your db690 with db6500 would just be a waste of money imo.
