I have sent an email to the seller with tons of questions and a vague intention to purchase. Any thoughts from the group. I am fearful the Monitor 10bs I won on ebay won't leave the seller, so I have been looking elsewhere.

I can't say I've ever seen this driver pattern on an SDA before.

Thoughts? Comments? Go for it?

I just sold a pair of those to Mlong about 2 weeks ago. It's a neat speaker, SDA tweeter, and solid bass. The upgraded tweeter sounds even better in them.

You should get serious on them IMO.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Those look great and if they sound as nice as they look, they're priced right. I prefer the light oak in these over my dark SDA 2s.

I sold mine to Mark for $350 with upgraded tweeters and upgraded Vampire Wire binding posts....but that's just me passing on a hookup.

Are you picking up? I would offer $300 cash and pickup.

hey man they are SDA's and for 300 ish...jump all over them. You wont regret it IMO. Only one ? that comes to mind is if they come with the SDA IC??? If so than even better. But if not you can make your own. Are the Blade Blade or Pin Blade guys?

Okay, I figured these would be a good thing to jump on. Just waiting to hear back from the seller now.

****, I'd have to get a whole new source and amp and preamp to make these things any good too.

**** - Ugh, shipping, well just make sure you talk about that thoroughly.

I like them better than the Cardas, as they are just as nice and cheaper. The main advantage is that they are are stronger than the stock binders, and and allow for a more secure connection.

They are beautiful speakers and the bass is so solid that I unhooked the subwoofer that was attached to the same receiver. The price sounds good!

Yeah, welcome to my rec room and bedroom (as I scour Ebay for amplifiers for both pairs of SDA 2's).

.....I came here all excited to post pics of the new SDA's I bought to give to my Dad,
when I saw your thread. Don't feel much like posting about them now.
I emailed Ken an hour after he posted them on audiogon yesterday, and set up an appt. to see them today.
He lives literally 10 minutes from my house.
I went over to see them and they were just as he said, so I bought them.

Shizelbs, I hope there are no hard feelings, I didn't know you were interested in them until a few minutes ago.
They are to be a surprise for my Dad,
but If Mom says they are "too big"
they may be for sale once again.

I noticed the seller listed the new retail price as $2200. Not quite correct. I don't know the MSRP for '83 & '84 but it was $1200 a pair in '85 & '86.

Nope, you just have to be 1st in line, instead of 3rd.

What the heck are SDA's? Is it a worse form of an STD?
