Man, just finished setting up the living room rig.

Running the Vandy 2's on the Audire amp, Melos SHA 1 with an NOS matched set of Jan 6922's, AMC CD8b feeding an Audio Alchemy DTI and DITB.

That, and my buddy Vu over at Hi-End Audio put all my cables on his cable cooker for 8hrs today. Running SC from DAC to Line Amp to Amp, and Audioquest digital cables / speaker cables.

Listening to 'Cafe Blue' on HDCD - you guys may never hear from me again.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Listening to 'Cafe Blue' on HDCD - you guys may never hear from me again.

'Cafe Blue' as in Patricia Barber? If so a very revealing jazz album with twists. One of my favorites for auditioning speakers, wire, etc.

Track #2 is like a jazz version of something off of PF DSOTM but in their own way. Lots of separation in instruments there.

Track #9 for its change in dynamic range.

Track #11, the drummer must have had a flashback from Zep's "moby dick."

Good to see the 1/2s have continued to make "the cut"; they are running with very fine company. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say about them. If you ever have the urge to let them go... please let me know.

I'm still kicking myself for not bagging some Vandy 2c's from the dealer's trade-ins a few years ago... he wanted like 300 for the pair and that was negotiable.

I love my Polks but I love a lot of other speakers too. Diversity is a cool thing here.

Looks like you guys are up for a fine time this weekend.

The Spendors will probably never leave, but let me put this way, if they aren't at my house, they are at yours.

BTW, your 'package' goes out monday.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Did you receive Mr. Gardners DH labs cables? I think they are fantastic and I hope you guys give them a good run. I probably have a good 60 hours on them so they should be good right out of the shoot.

Have fun down there in Tejas and give us boys an update.

What a great day. Over 20+ attended, from 3 different audio forums / groups.

I could go into this hooked up to that, this cable, that speaker....

To sum it up, I learned 2 very important things today.

The world is a better place, thanks to tube amps, and Allison Krauss.

    Hbomb,

What DH Labs are you talking about? The Q10s?

    Russ,
Yeah if you are talking about the latest Alison Krauss album "Lonely Runs Both Ways" is nothing short of spectacular in my system (minus the tracks where the Billy Bob's are singing). Talk about almost make a grown man want to cry.

I'm sure all of the rigs were very impressive. Ah come on now, at least tell us about the consensus top 2 combos;) I'm sure you took some pics too.
