edited November 2018 in For Sale (FS) Classifieds
Bought from Zach here on the forum. Used minimally. I have an AT-120 USB that I prefer. Selling as I received it for the same price.

Includes original aluminum platter AND upgraded glass platter. There is one small (barely noticeable) chip on the glass platter that was there when I got it.

Also includes an installed Nagaoka MP110 and one spare stylus.

$250 + shipping

Prefer a local sale, but I have the original packaging.

It's packed up now, but I'll see if I can find any pictures of it...

This is an insanely good deal here folks. I'm broke so I cannot take advantage of it but if I had the funds I'd do it in a heartbeat. The cart and the additional stylus are worth the price of admission here alone plus there are upgrades on this 'table. GIve her a good home!

Victor - I think Zach mentioned you were 'interested' in this TT before he sold it to me! I've been sitting on this for a while, so who knows... it may be here for a while. Let me know if you find the pot of gold buried in your back yard. Mine is full of holes, and I've yet to find any treasures in my yard! Hence the reason I'm trying to sell some gear that's not getting any use.

So I decided to bring the TT down to the basement. Hooked it up to my secondary rig with the Rotel pre which has a phono stage. I had the Monitor 10's already connected, and took the new Rega for a spin.

I choose Tool Lateralus (brand new) for starters. I also have the CD and wanted to do a quick A/B comparison, with everything else being equal.
    m9yv9cga96hs.jpg

    My test rig:
    9fdrdnv3kge2.jpg

I was immediately struck by the warmth of the vinyl. I had forgotten how complete they sound. Just an overall general impression.

While that impression was still in my mind, I played the CD. While it sounded good, there was definitely a bit lacking. The CD sounded a bit more (audiophile term inserted here) "clinical" to me. Missing something, IMO.

The bass notes on the CD seemed a bit tighter on these little monitors, whereas the bass was a bit less detailed on the vinyl.

I was a bit nostalgic when placing the record on the TT, aligning the tonearm, wait - where's my reading glasses! PITA, last time I played a record I didn't need any!

I can see how vinyl can be compelling. The analog thing I get, makes sense to me, especially when there are so many poor digital recordings out there.

Certainly more to come, I dipped my toes in, and the water is, well, warm!

Special thanks to Al @scubalab for allowing me to share in his journey!

Hey Dave another thing to consider is that whatever RCA cables you have hooked up on the P1 still need time to settle in.

Not to say I didn't like your test, but since you just hooked it up I think it'll need several hours of playback to come to life.

Looking forward to future back to back vinyl/CD tests!
