    Be careful about powering it up. Inspect the chassis. The wire insulation (rubber) could be dry rotted, and the capacitors (at least on my old Philip) had cardboard sleeves with tar like material on the ends that had some leakage. I took it to a local shop and had it all refurbished.

    So I went back and looked at my post. My radio is actually a Philco 41-290.

    @machone I really enjoy my radio. I hooked up a BT dongle and stream old time radio programs to it. Before my time, but still a lot of fun!

    AM is awesome. The only thing I listen to in the car anymore, and these old cabinets are works of absolute art.
