I picked it up the day it was released, but haven't even listened to it all the way through for some crazy reason.

I got it a day or two after release but left on vacation. Finally listened today. It's good.

As much as i try I just can't. I know the new guy is good but I'm a Layne Staley fan through and through. Good to hear it is good.

All due respect to Cantrell and Kinney, who started the band so they can call this Alice In Chains of they want to, but personally I just consider this an entirely new entity. Makes it easier to absorb their last three albums, which have all had their bright spots (although Degradation Trip is the only post Staley work of Cantrell's that I truly love). I've only made it through this one once so it's too early to judge, but it's worth a listen.

What I don't think is up for debate is that any fan of Chains should check them out live if they tour nearby. I agree that nobody can replace Layne, so F it, just do it yourself. There's definite catharsis when you and the thousands of fans around you are belting or your old favorites. The band puts everything they have into it as well.

Didn't realize there was a new album. Just listened to it on Tidal. I didn't much care for "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here". I like this one even less. There are no solid riffs or catchy lyrics. Just the same droning mess song after song. Maybe it will grow on me if I can force myself to listen to it again. Meh, probably not.

I have been enjoying this the day it came out, of course I did not go into it expecting it to sound like anything when Layne was in the band. I expected it to sound like the last two, a Cantrell album with a little bit of the past thrown in.

I like it for what it is just had this with me on a road trip and listened to it a few times, so I now enjoy it more so than the initial listen. Is it Facelift or Dirt of course not but still worthy of a purchase.
