RTia9

Is this enough to power my RTia9 speakers in stereo mode? I will only using them for stereo.

All they can do is look pretty with your current set up of only speakers.

A more robust amplifier would be a better choice. All those woofers crave a lot of current.

Agreed. See below on the Marantz:

From Polk website, but the key here is a high current amp. Lot's of threads here on that subject. It's not just a matter of watts.

Basement: Polk SDA SRS, Micro Seiki MB14 TT, VTL 2.5 Pre, Marantz CD6006 CDP, Conrad Johnson MF2300A Amp, Furman 15PFi Power Conditioner, AQ Diamondback (version 1) RCA IC's, MIT Terminator2 Cables
Office: PC, Marantz AMP-1, Acoustic Technologies Classic Speakers, Polk PSWi225 wireless sub, MIT AVt2 cables, IFI Purifier2, AQ Cinnamon USB cable

Agree with everyone above. You need a hefty dose of power for the A9's. Look for used Parasound HCA 1200 or 1500, B&k amps, McCormack, Belles, Rotel, just to name a few.

Will they play, yes. Will they operate to their full potential, not even close. Please get a separate amp.

I will add that pro amps, while they work, are NOT a good solution.
Not Tom, or Trey, or Jim
    NAD C352
Monitor Audio Radius R90’s/Polk SDA CRS/Mission Freedom 770 IV
BJC speaker cables, generic RCA’s, one homemade power cable, because that’s going to do any good with the rest of the generic ones.
Technics SL3200 turntable and a Shure M97xE phono cartridge
    Velodyne VA-907 subwoofer
Lafayette LR-1100 acting as a tuner and phono.
I've always thought the goal of high end audio was not to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Turn that darn music down' but to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Tell your friends to go home and you can practice later this week'.

I've never heard of them ants. But that's really light for a 5 channel amp - 26 pounds. 85 wpc is on the low end for those beasts.

Greg5515, please see your rewritten post and note all the correct changes so that you can post in paragraphs, and correct sentences that will make it easier for us to give you advice.
    Welcome to Club Polk.

    Hello, new guy here.

I have had Polk speakers since the early eighties and I love them. I have some RTIA 9, and some older RTI sixteens from the early eighties.

I have just ordered an Atoll av500. I was told the ants have a break in period before they will sound good.

I was wondering if anyone else has used these amps to power their Polk speakers, and if you are happy with them.
