This was built by Rich(scomp) and acquired by me from Carl (schwartz) while visiting relatives in Pittsburgh. I have owned this fo 5 years or so. It has a few upgrades performed by me,,Mundorfs,Sonicap,Sonicap Platinums,,Vishay nude resistors and comes with a NOS JAN Sylvania 5Y3GT,, two RCA 12AX7’s and a RCA cleartop side getter 12AU7, and has a stereo/mono switch.zsg8uzibmk3o.jpeg

This may very well be the last phono pre that you own. I would like this to stay in the family if possible. Thanks for looking and pm me if interested.Comes with the tube dampers too8tzjuu0wwacf.jpeg

Bump,, just noticed that one of these sold on AA with similar upgrades for 650.00 of course mine has better caps,, at this point I will lower the price to $750.00 shipped and throw in another rectifier either a Chinese 5AR4 or 5Y3,, your choice.

The Hagerman Coronet kit is legandary. I am sure this one is much better than the one at AA. I loved this phono pre. Rich did a top quality job and with these upgrades it's a bargain. You will spend a lot of money to get a better phono preamp than this one. There are not too many chances to own a scompracer custom built component. And of course George's upgrades.

Thanks Carl,, folks,,seriously,,this thing punches way above its price,, for most it will be a destination piece. Considering the caps, resistors, and tubes, you will be hard pressed to find something to run with this for less than a grand or more.Just my two cents.
    Thank you kindly.

Would one need a SUT for this with an MC cartridge, even if it were HO?

If I didn't already have the Dodd tube phono preamp this would've never made it past ten minutes. Somebody should snap this baby and up your game.

How much better can it be than my $100 Cambridge Audio 640p? I bet I couldn't even tell the difference between them! </sarcasm>

Too rich for my blood, but yeah this thing looks sweet.
