Thor Ragnarok 4K Blu Ray is disappointing

Not sure if anyone has picked this up. But this is what I found on my copy.

So over the weekend we picked up Thor. We threw it in last night and what a disappointment this disc is. The sound is Dolby Atmos but is uses almost no height channels at all. Also the LFE is not used to the point my subs turned off once in the movie.
We usually run a movie like this around-15 to-20. We had this cranked to -8 to hear anything. It feels like this was compressed transfer for sure.
We decided to throw in Men in Black 4K after an hour of viewing it was so bad. Now that’s a well done disc.

I'll have to watch it again with the "new" AVR and evaluate. First time watching, the audio wasn't set properly.

Kinda unrelated...the Men In Black disc...did it come from the recent trilogy reissue in 4K? I know that's got at least two different boxes....if it did could you maybe post a pic of it so I can go buy it? :)
Yes from the trilogy reissue. Well worth getting.
I will get you a pic of the set later today.

Let us know what you think.
I found myself checking every setting 10 minutes into the movie. It almost sounds like it was in a night viewing mode. Just flat.

I don't have that one or plan to get it, but the review on Blu-Ray.com also says the soundtrack is clear but lacks dynamics.

I would agree with that assessment.
My wife joked that we downgraded to a sound bar last night when watching it.
I guess I will load this on the iPad for my next flight. No reason to watch it on the home system.

Watched this last weekend and have to agree. Kind-of a letdown for this caliber of a movie.

Thats a shame, I really liked that movie and I picked it up in 4k. I have not watched it at home yet.

What I don't get is the Menu comes up at reference volume and the movie is flat.
4K transfer looks good. Its sad the audio is so bad.
