There have been several discussions about the S60 and the S20. Does anyone have experience with the S50? Seems like a (to quote someone else on here) "stupid good deal" on them.

No one has heard the S50? I was thinking that in a HT application, like I would be using them, that this setup would work pretty well, assuming they are at least somewhat similar to the S60.

The deal has the S30 center, which most people seem to prefer, and the S10 seems like they would do okay for rears.

I am getting Skip's Pio Elite SC-63 to drive my home theater setup, and would like to, someday, update my speakers from the RT800's I have now, but can't afford to put too much into that setup since we don't use it that much anymore.

I would assume that it is identical in sound to the S60 only with a little less bass since it only has two drivers. The tweeter is crystal clear without any sibilance.

Are you finding the RT800s to be lacking in one or more areas?

I imagine that would be a really nice ht setup with a decent sub, but I haven’t heard them outside of Best Buy unfortunately.

    That’s HTIB type prices, unbelievable.

Not really. They sound great for HT. But like most of us, I keep wanting to try something new. Plus, I can pass on the 800's and the rest of that setup to one of my daughters.

Not in a hurry to spend the money, even as low as it is, but just curious if anyone else has heard the S50's.

And Cathy, I agree with you. Seems like they should work well, especially with a separate sub for bass.
