I’m down at my parents house for the weekend to help them move a few cars from Virginia down to Florida, and figured I’d share his stereo rig. Ultimately it is a dual purpose rig , 2ch/5.1 although I’m pretty positive he never uses it for ht anymore

Components are:
Krell Res 1 speakers
Krell Res center (not pictured)
Krell Res sub
Krell Evolution processor
Krell Connect streamer
Krell HTS 5 channel amplifier
Linn Axis TT that he has had forever

Those are the highlights. Someday maybe I’ll get o this level! The room is not arranged properly as they are in the process of moving

Man, too bad he wasn't willing to spend any real money on his system :)

He's obviously has some taste, and, has even done room treatments. That's a fine example he's setting.

My father worked for Sears as a refrigerator repair man, and he used his employee discount to buy a Sears brand stereo back in the 60s. I forgot the name but it was a big stereo console with a control panel with lots of knobs, tuner, turntable, and speaker in one cabinet, and a separate cabinet for the other stereo speaker. As soon as he got home every night, big band music would start playing. LOL

I was forbidden to touch it, so I soon learned how to use it during the day when alone, and put it back into the same state as I found it. :)

Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

There was little alcohol in the house growing up. My parents smoked, but rarely drank. However, just before I turned 18 we moved from College Park to Rockville, which was more convenient to DC, where the drinking age was 18 (for beer/wine). So, that is where I was on Friday nights. :)
