Any Cigar Aficionados out there?

Was wondering if any Polkies are also into cigars. Some of my faves by Drew Estate:

I don't know about aficionado, but I like a good cigar. Those Tabaks are a good smoke, wish the Java wasn't as expensive tho, as I prefer that one. I have a thing for Cuban cigars generally, Partagas, Montecristo, and the relatively unhearalded but amazing Ramone Allones.

Yes I am! Don't confuse that with the statement Melissa Ethridge was making with her album with the same title.

I use to work in a humidor back in the early to mid 90's and was able to collect a wardrobe sized double door humidor full of cigars at cost. Thought I was in heaven. Probably had 5,000 cigars at one point. I smoked about 5-7 sticks a day. Now, I'm down to one single door humidor with less than 500 cigars. I'll smoke one every few weeks.

Seems there was a push for several years to make heavier, darker cigars. Deep, heavy on the ligero smokes that wore me thin. It was like every new brand was trying to play the "my cigar is stronger than yours" game. Wore me kind of thin.

I guess you could say I kinda like Drew Estate's stuff as well:

Left is full of regular sticks of various brands, right one is all Acids.

Haven't smoked any cigars in over three or four months though. Kinda taking a break I guess.

The Grand Reserve is disgusting. IMO.

Their stuff is generally over hyped polished up turds.

Naturally, that’s just my tastes and opinion.

I have a soft spot for: La Aroma De Cuba, anything from A. Fuente or Don Pepin Garcia, Leaf by Oscar, Padron...

I'll second the La Aroma de Cuba as a very good smoke. I've also been enjoying the Undergrown Sun Grown from Drew Estate lately. I never paid attention to Drew Estate after they started their journey in to "flavored" cigars. I thought many of them were terrible and never paid attention to them until a friend suggested I try the Undergrown line, particularly the Sun Grown variety. Excellent smoke. Spicy and creamy at the same time. Fuller bodied, but, that's tempered by the smooth. creamy feel.

Nice Dave. Your post reminded me that I smoked my first cigar in 8+ months on my recent trip to WI.

It was the La Flor Dominicana "La Nox" in the "Petite Corona" 5 x 40 size. Picked up a 5 pack and still have one left. Great smoke if you like a maduro. Not too complex, but just very smooth & satisfying and a great even burn. Check 'em out if you can find them locally or add a 5 pack to your next online order. https://www.neptunecigar.com/cigars/la-flor-dominicana-la-nox-petite

I crushed a couple Java last weekend, a Drew Blonde, A Fuente Short Story and a ManOWar Virtue, solid cigar weekend for me, amazing how a decent stick doesn't leave your mouth like paste the next morning like a cheap on does.

While you’re visiting the Fuente section, I would also look at the Anejo Xtra Viejo.

Agreed, the Best Seller is also very good.

And I do like that Anejo Xtra Viejo too, even though it's priced above what I usually go for. Very good smoke though.
