Have a rt707 cover that needs refinishing (marks and surface rust) anything more involved than simple sanding and crylon????

    That should work. Depending on how deep the rust is, you may have pit marks or other imperfections in the metal after sanding. To fix, you can use spot putty to fill em.

    Was going to use some 0000 steel wool. Just don't want a "modled" look
