RIP, Jose Padron

Not sure if many of you guys are into cigars at all, but the industry lost a legend this week, Jose Padron.

He will be greatly missed!

I had a chance to sit back and enjoy some of the fruit of his labor today:

2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

Sometimes, it's better to just not post whatever pops into your head.

    I'm just saying.

Huge cigar fan. Use to work at a smoke shop here in Louisville while considering getting in to the business as a retailer back in the early to mid 90's. I had a humidification liquid I sold for a few years as well. Padron has some of the most well respected cigars in the industry.

I just read some of that article. What a neat little story about his life and starting his business. Gotta wonder how much work it is rolling cigars. And how many those old hands rolled. Definitely seems a bit artful. I don't partake, but am interested and can appreciate what goes into it, and a man's journey to become a master in his industry.

I'm glad you had one to enjoy on the day of his passing. I'm sure a lot of people did the same.
    Enjoy. ;)

    RIP Mr. Padron.

More of a pipe tobacco fan than cigars, myself. That said, I have enjoyed a number of Padron cigars in my time. The 1964's are excellent. Padron was a master cigar manufacturer. R.I.P Jose Padron.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

    RIP Mr. Padron.

My wife got it for me and a new cutter for this past Fathers Day. Been letting it rest a bit and looking for a good reason to smoke it.

    It was a FANTASTIC cigar!
