    What do you mean by metal tape? If you are referring to a metal backed tape on the cages it is most likely dynamat or other damping material. That is a common mod to reduce the resonance from the speaker. You’ll find many threads on it here st CP.

    Thanks again @deronb1 . The package with the mw6503 arrived today. It was packaged exceptionally well! I cant wait to get these Monitor 10s up and running again.
