Sound bar will only allow me to turn up volume?! Please help!

Also, I have also attempted to sync my tv remote in thinking surly it will allow to turn it down once I by pass the physical volume button... nothing... it will only allow me to turn the volume up.

    Hello,
    Usually this kind of problem results from using a cable/satellite remote to program the soundbar. The first thing to do is erase the stored instructions by putting the bar in the standby mode (red LED) then press and hold the "learn" button for a couple of second until the LED blinks. Now the bar should only respond to the Polk remote. Then use your TV remote to program the bar, once it has learned this it will respond to the cable/satellite remote.

  • Kenneth, no luck with trying to unlearn. What's is odd is that even from the actually unit you cannot turn the volumn down, just up. Any other suggestions?

    I believe it is time to contact Polk's CS department on Monday at: 1-800-377-7655 select option 1 and have the serial number available. They'll take care of it.

  • Hi Indy I have the exact same issue my volume down button on the bar itself will not work every other button functions properly on the unit. The Polk remote is able to turn volume down but the physical button on the bar cannot. Seems the physical button is broken to me, I called customer service but they are closed on the weekend, were they able to resolve your issue?

    I want to be able to learn the volume down function on my other remotes but cannot since the physical button won't work to be able to be selected to learn. I can learn every other function as the other buttons all work.
