Excellent, February is a great month to visit AZ for a Polk Fest... ;)

Congrats Steve, pools take some time and effort but are worth it IMO.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Going to be gorgeous, Steve! You'd need a 3-D pool cage (or lanai) to enjoy that at night down here. Lucky you--no skeeters.

    Enjoy!

I don't know how people in FL have pools w/o cages... I still get a couple of snakes a year in the pool and I have a very solid cage... but they are little and kinda cool.

We are lucky on the mosquito front. I have pulled a snake or 2 out of the skimmer in the past. Florida has all kinds of critters.

We're having it plumbed to be "solar ready" and I'm doing a Pentair SWCG again. Love the salt chlorinating systems--way less maintenance.

Yes. The Variable speed pump is new to me, our last pool had a single speed. So I've got some learning to do on it. Looks like they save alot of electric $.

1250 RPM's normal 2000 RPM's when pumping to Solar. All controlled by the app and the automation system that has an Andriod and IOS app. You can also control the chlorinator and the lights with the automation system. $$$ but worth it. With pool lights A/C year round All electric house at about $5.00/day and less in winter months. Just replaced the HW heater with a newer very efficient model and we will see what that does.

I'll never have a pool again! 10 hours a week of work, cleaning, chemicals, filters for 2 hours of swimming, 2 hours of flooting, and a few minutes of making bubbles, and 50 hours of working to pay for it. Just not worth it! LOL

Wow. My previous pool was like 30 minutes a week. Test water, vacuum, add a little muriatic (lower pH), clean the pump and skimmer baskets. SWCG's tend to push pH up a bit due to the gassing-out of CO2 during the chloride production process.

I spend about 2 hours a month on mine.... You musta had some crummy eq. Saltwater chlorine generator is the way to go. System is all automated. Having a concrete pool I have to add about a cup of acid every other day to keep PH in balance.

    Nice !!

My wife has always wanted one. But we live 7 miles from the ocean. We haven't been to the ocean in years by ourselves. We met at the ocean and got married on the beach in an ocean front room. Honeymoon in the room that night.

But the idea of not getting bit by a shark is priceless. A pool guarantees no fish will want you for dinner.

    Your design looks great !

And a shed to boot. Nice .

We use ours quite a bit. We first went swimming on April 26 and my son and I had our last swim Oct 23.
I check the chemicals once a week but I mostly add ph- because of the rain. Not much else to do. I vacuum maybe 1 mth we have no trees around and I'd run the pump from 1pm to about 10pm. Kept it at about 90f. Natural gas heater by raypak and everything else pump, cartridge filter, and salt chlorinator by Hayward. For us up here almost 6 months of swimming that's amazing.

Steve, Hope you and Bev enjoy the new pool. I remember seeing pics of your old one.

Thanks. Plumbing is almost finished, and all of the equipment is in place and hooked up (plumbing, not electrical). They still need to run the return line to the waterfall, and the 2 floor returns. Rebar will be next! They're hauling butt.
