Will not play sound

I bought the Magnifi Mini last Friday, serial no. 9116071742651. I have it hooked to a switch with my xbox 1 and dvd player as the inputs and the tv as the output. Xbox 1 saw it and set up it for bitstream output as it was wired through the Optical input. It worked fine.
I downloaded the google home app and went through the setup and have been unable to hear the test sound. Also, it will no longer play audio for the xbox. Its hooked to wifi and I am unable to play music via Bluetooth through the magnifi mini as well.
I called technical support and was caught in a loop. When I pushed 1 it just went back to the main menu.

did they suggest any solution, facing the same issue here. There's no sound after connecting it to google home app.
