In-ceiling speakers for steam shower. Pls advise.

Options
Hi there,

I'm looking for in-ceiling speakers to be placed inside my steam shower.
On this forum I found some suggestions but they seem dated, and thus often pointing to older (discontinued) models.

From the currently available in-ceiling speakers, which one would be suited for the conditions in a steam shower?

I'm also considering a single stereo speaker, due to space limitations.

Thanks!

SC Series and MC Series are current models and will be suitable.

Most other models are fine and moisture-resistant as well but they use steel grilles and those steel grilles can discolor and possibly rust over time (unless treated). But the actual speaker themselves wont have any issues.

(SC and MC use aluminum grilles)

    Thanks!

In some online shops I find the RC6s. Would those work as well?
    Aluminum grilles?

Are there spec sheets of the different speakers?

RC Series is their older line. Vanishing Series is their newest range. SC and MC is their entry-level.

Top of the line down to entry-level:
    - LS Series (magnetic grilles (steel))
    - RT Series (magnetic grilles (steel))
    - V Series (magnetic grilles (steel))
    - MC and SC (aluminum grilles)

Check the Polk website for their respective specs.

Thanks again! Do you know if RC has an aluminum grill?

I don't have any suggestions other than to spray paint if the grille is removable, but that is one of the best forum names I have seen in a while. Welcome!

I believe the RC series is aluminum grilles (but you better verify with Polk directly). The reason they moved to steel for the new series is so it sticks to the magnets. (Looks way cleaner without the big bezzle)
