People/Musicians Who Don't Look Like Their Voices

msgmsg Posts: 4,149
I was on an 80s binge the other night. First off, Van Halen's video for Jump - I'm embarrassed to say I used to think it was really cool when I was in 5th grade. I had no idea how girlie David Lee Roth was at the time. Don't get me started on Dee Snider.

Now. On to more important things...
People/Musicians Who Don't Look Like Their Voices

ZZ Top.
Kind of smooth rasp that exudes coolness.
Is it both Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill who sing, or primarily Billy Gibbons?
Either way, for as cool as they are, they don't sound like they look. Or look like they sound.

I think Afterburner was my first paper-route-money cassette tape.

I just looked this dude up, checking out "Budapest". Catchy. Definitely doesn't seem like that kid'd have that voice either.

Lightman knows of a great room with a huge structural post in the middle of it. Think it was one of his favorites.

Back to the op; I watched a bio on bowie and he said he didn't like his own voice.
