Scratchy noise - LSiM704C

So last year I purchased the LSiM704C on the yearly Polk FF deal. I got it and installed it in place of my random Boston VR920 center. My mains are LSi25, as are my rears.

From day one I thought the center sounded funny. Voices of a particular timbre would be scratchy or have a harshness to them. I swapped out center channel cables, center channel, source, swapped from amped back to receiver, same.

I even went so far as to buy a used Pioneer Elite SC05 to make sure it wasn't my receiver. This was like 6 months later (we don't use the theater a lot). On this go around I also had ordered some LSiM703s to replace the LSi25s as a downsize. I plugged the 703 in and the scratchiness was gone. Looks like the tweeter is bad. I called support today and waited about 15 minutes on hold. Afterwards the call lasted about 6 minutes and they're sending me a new tweeter and gasket.

I can't believe I waited over a year to fix this, but I guess my initial testing incorrectly showed the issue following source not the speaker.
Main Surround -

It can take a while to figure out. I ordered a pairs LSiM 703s from the Polk eBay store in December. One of the speakers had a bad tweeter and I figured it out fairly quick. But it took me about 6 months to determine that the bass driver was bad too. Polk took care of both and I have been happy since. It must feel good to have that fixed now, enjoy!

First pair of 705's I bought, had a dead tweeter out of the box, and one driver that popped (scratchy when pushed in). They replaced the pair for me. Second pair had a scratchy tweeter that I noticed after a few days. Polk replaced the tweeter, then the replacement was scratchy as well. I sold them after less than a year and bought some focal arias. Those have been perfect :)

The 705's were great when they weren't broken. Which seemed like half the time I owned them.

Well, I have to wait for the new tweeter. But after that we should be golden!
Now... to somehow sell the LSi25s!
