this was the maximum coverage we got (within a few seconds, give or take) in northern NH. We get our turn in 2024, by the way :)

Got completely dark here in greenville sc. we were fortunate enough to watch it from our back yard. It was way cooler than I anticipated.

Retracting eclipse after 64% partial coverage. I think it's probably about the max eclipse viewable in my part of the SoCal.

We tried the "multiple pinhole" effect with the grater and a piece of paper -- but even the smallest holes were too big for sharp images of the crescent.

We did get some not-bad images from the slots for the strings in the blinds in our living room on the outbound phase of the eclipse :/

Now that the eclipse has passed, Mr. McGuyver, I hope you have plans on being environmentally friendly by recycling that cardboard box into, say, a woofer.
I'm not sure what size hole you need, though.

That box covers a 30-plus year old air conditioner* that 1) still works and 2) I still
keep in the basement for emergencies.

I'd use it, too, but then Mrs. H starts complaining that we're using more electricity than the solar panels make in the summertime ;)

    *OBM, you know?

I should have listened to you, Tom. I needed the sleep more than burnt retinas looking at the eclipse. Glad that's over with.

Was doing some driving during the so called eclipse these traffic warnings were up everywhere to prevent idiot drivers like myself from taking pictures while driving what a bunch of hoopla didn't see nothing it was raining, we waited how many years for this? I was able to keep it on the road and no innocent travelers were injured while taking pictures of the sign.
