In this day and age, most everything has us on the brink of extinction. That is why i plan for it every day of the week. My wife calls me crazy, but when it does happen, and as i glance across the kitchen table fully engulfed in flames, i want to say to her one last time "I told you so".

I'm about 300 miles northeast of totality, but I'm trying to squeeze in a few more sacrifices before this things starts up.

Then I'm going to my second job before this thing peaks at 87% just before 3pm.

So i just ate my lunch on our picnic table.
I did 5 seconds of staring and 5 away, rinse and repeat for the first 30 minutes. Upped it to 10 seconds of staring, and 10 away........after the final 30, someone had to help me to my desk and i have an Uber scheduled to drive me home.

Let's see if my "training" pans out!

Working from home so I can be with the kids to watch it. Only about 65% coverage but still worth it. It's not like it happens a lot in one's lifetime.

I'm gonna max out the bucket straight up and stare that sucker right in in the eye and say "I am The Lightman! You have met your match!" .....Then knock off early, have a beer and sit by the pool.
Then pick on Biron for a while.

We are still a bit from totality, awesome view so far.

Well, thanks to the welding mask idea, i walked out to the shop and grabbed ours.
I can officially say, i stared at the sun and saw a solar eclipse.

I was also the hero of the office and 20 people lined behind me.

You didn't miss too much I mean this was only a ploy by the north Koreans. They developed a deathstar and that's what really passed across the sun. Hence the suit...
