A kind of Dumb Question

So I'm sitting here wondering on how my TSX250C would match my S60 towers. It does well on the bedroom HT with the S20. Currently have an S30 as my center which does well but it looks funny as I made the center speaker spot on my stand for a BIG center. Just wich Polk would make a BIG center for the signature line.

Just looking for opinion's before I start swapping everything and running Audyssey again....
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I think your ears should decide. If I had any downtime, I would try it myself. Haven't listened to my rig since Jayden was born.

Would only take a little time to find out.

Although timbre matching is highly recommended, some people can't hear a difference, and some even prefer a localized center. All advice given for music as well as HT, is in general a rule of thumb, or someone's opinion.

Not to say a persons opinion isn't valuable, but if you already have the speaker try it.

I'll git it a try this week... moving the mother in-law out this afternoon :):):)

Was thinking about getting a CSi5 but that RTi tweeter would be way off.

I'll be able to move stuff around without the wife's spie nagging me :)

Well I got around to swapping out the TSX250C for the S30. I waited till today because I also added an amp to my system. Nothing special an Emotiva BasX A300.

After getting everything set up I ran Audyssey, this time my little trick of plugging the power ports didn't work so it was just plain let audyssey do it's thing.

Once setup I played some of demo from movies. OK the 250C is blending well with the S60. I watch a full episode of GoT and yes blends very nice, actually has a fuller sound to it than the S30 did.

I think I will keep it in the mix for now

As for the BasX A300 well it adds a lot to my system, sound is more fuller and detailed than just going off the AVR.

    Cheers

Oh no I'm not going down the rabbit hole wanting an A31 now

You're right on about that, My A300 is driving my S60 and WOW so much more detail very clean sound.

As for more time on the TSX250C in the mix. Well the S30 is a better center speaker a little fuller sounding but the 250c does blend well with the S60. I made my TV stand to hold a big center and thought it looked funny with the smaller S30. I'll see how it goes over the next few weeks.

I also got Audyssey dialed in. when I recalibrated I could not get rid of the insane 80hz dips so I tried the rag in the power pot that worked for me before. I wound up just placing the towels around the bottom of the speaker to get rid of the spikes.

I am probably dating myself by noting that when I see "A300", this is what I immediately think of:

    ^^^I wish it was that^^^

The Emotive BasX-A300 is a $400 two channel amp that actually does very well. I would have like to have a parasound but my wallet said no way.

    https://emotiva.com/product/a-300/

Not the greatest amp there is but it does drive my S60 a lot better than my AVR. I did use Audioquest Tower RCA to go from my AVR to amp. I'm happy with it so far.
