Hit my Social Security max

Just looked at my checking balance and saw the direct deposit is $300 more than two weeks ago. Yes! I hit the max SS deduction, and now no more for the rest of the year. Maybe it is time to upgrade the speaker cables. :)

    No. New Shunyata Sigma line. My previous Shunyata Zitron Anaconda were $4K. The new line is almost $8K. Still waffling on this purchase. LOL.

    What does this mean exactly.....not that I'll ever see SS due my age

    SS is deducted from your wages up to some limit. Once your wages reach that limit then there is no more SS deduction. One suggestion for improving SS for the future is to remove that limit, and have deductions on all income. I have mixed feelings on that, but generally agree with it even though it will cost me.

    Gotcha....makes sense now. My view is as long as I get back what I paid into the program....plus a modest return in interest accrued....I'm fine with that. Obviously nobody can predict when they will stop collecting the benefit. But honestly I have no idea what the math is behind paying X into SS during your working years vs. what you get to take out over your retirement.
