I am arm wrestling with myself about the tubes and tube gear.

I think I'm going to do it and sell my VTL ST50 w/mods and Conrad Johnson PV-5 w/mods (and for pure sound quality it really doesn't get much better) but I'm not quite there yet

Are all or most player spindle shafts the same diameter?

There is a small range of tolerance in diameter because manufacturing takes place in different parts of the world with metric vs imperial standards. I think the range is just a tenth of a millimeter though. Not enough to make a difference with a clamp.

I think the same is true of the diameter of the center hole in LPs. Some will fit more tightly on a spindle than others.
