Our youngest, Geri Ann, is headed to high school next year. Seems impossible.

She will be attending a magnet school for the visual and performing arts (VPAs) similar to her middle school experience where she received this award at commencement:

She was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this year as well as receiving a Principal's Award for a 4.0 grade average throughout middle school. This fall, she begins her 5th season with the Sarasota Youth Orchestra as a violinist.

Sandy and I are super proud of the talented and gracious young woman she has become!

    Thanks for the kind words @msg @Jimbo18 @F1nut and @txcoastal1 !

Geri and her brother Mitchell used to both sit on "Uncle Jesse's" lap at the same time. Seems like yesterday.

We dropped her off for two weeks at FSU Orchestra Camp yesterday in Tallahassee. Her first big adventure away from home without a parent, grandparent or sibling. I'm sure she'll have a great time with many fond memories and stories to tell.

Thanks so much @rooftop59 and @scubalab ! Geri plays with such emotion and attack that even practicing scales before her grouping audition will raise goosebumps. :)

    Thanks so much @gudnoyez @cfrizz and @voltz !

After we got her situated in her dorm the other day, Sandy took a pic of Geri sitting on her bunk bed. I didn't see the pic until we were back home and instantly recognized the same "look" from a pic Sandy took on Geri's first day at kindergarten - determination to overcome the butterflies and succeed. Love that girl! Last pic (I promise). BTW - her audition placed her in the top grouping of students. Nailed it! :)

Awesome job dad. Next thing you know she will be getting a masters in aerospace engineering.
