Karma giveaway from Polk Audio

Good afternoon everyone!

We’re having a GIVEAWAY for these classic Monitor 7 speakers! They have been inspected for every technical and cosmetic detail by our Polk Quality Assurance team. They have stood through the test of time and you will still be blown away when you hear them.

All you have to do is comment on this thread a photo of your current set up (with or without Polk speakers) and tell us why you deserve a pair of Polk Monitor 7s. We’ll be using a random generator to choose the winner.

Not in, because someone else could put these to better use than I could right now, but pretty freaking cool!

Thank you Ken! Now why would a pair of M7s be deserved in this rig? Because after I work on a pair of Monitor 5jr+ to be the centre channel, that pair of 7s would slot in perfectly as rears for an all vintage Polk setup consisting of Marantz and Parasound upstream.

Addendum, the second photo is a bit older with my now long gone Onkyo AVR, been replaced with a Marantz SR5010. Also the tweeters in the SDA2s have been replaced with RD0-194 tweeters sourced direct.

IN, in, in. Very sorry I sold my M7's. I love my M5jr+ series 2, but the M7's were just a bit better. They don't fit my room as well, but the sound was awesome. Those look like a beautiful set. If I win them, I will bequeath my M5's to one of my daughters, or a friend.

  • My current two channel set up is a Yamaha R-S500 receiver along with Polk Audio RTI A5 speakers and my main source is my Windows 10 computer and a Sabre 9018 DAC.

I deserve these monitor 7s because I love Polk Audio Speakers and not enough people in Pierce County WA have ever heard them (including me) and I will gladly demo them and show them off to all my friends and family and I will continue to promote Polk Audio speakers.

The monitor 7 speakers were the first Polks I ever heard. They were powered by a 40 watt Onkyo receiver. I was blown away with the sound they could produce. They are the reason I own SDAs today.

Those Mon 7's belong to an aficionado that won't implement another SL5000.

That looks like my old HK AVR. I got my monies worth out of it before it died and thought it did very well with two channel music.

    Nice setup!

    Nice setup!

Thanks. Low budget but it sounds very good to my uneducated ears. Got the HK from a Polkie for a good price, paid $75 for the M5jr+series 2 with the stands. The CS245i was about $50 and the cheap Sony sub was free.

Even though it is not haute cuisine (neither is mine), I bet your setup will easily beat over 90% of your friends and neighbors. Nothing wrong with putting stuff together a la carte and finding deals. We all gotta deal with budgets. It looks like you have a decent sized listening room and that makes a big difference as well. good luck with the speaker Karma!

    The HT 7.2 all Polk A9s, A5s, A3s, CSI A6. The 2.3tls, and in the spare pile CRS+s Some 2B's FXIA6's.

I could use some Monitor 7's as I don't have a pair of Monitors and would like to add them to my Polk Collection. Please consider me in. I would keep them and cherish them forever.

Damn Larry, your speakers look like dominatrices, especially that right one with the hands on top. Have you been a bad boy?

This is definitely "Good Karma" and a very nice gesture from Polk. I normally would be all-in for these nice speakers (you can never have too many Polks) even though I don't really have a need for them right now.

I would rather see someone who will really put them to good use win them though.

    I bet they sound pretty-good.

Those 1.2tls look bad azz, Dominance and Submission nice job.

    Nice, I want in.

Will have to get a photo later.

Why, I have been a Polk fan since I was a kid. Have bought only Polk speakers since around 1990.. and I have bought a bunch. From 1.2tl's (modded) to the latest LSIM703, 706, 705, and 702's. I could list them all if it helps, rotate them through from time to time and enjoy all of them.

No intentions of going to another brand.

In for sure, the Monitor 7's are the one speaker I regret letting go of, please consider me in!!!

I deserve them because I want them!! LOL!!!

This is my two channel system, yes those are the LSiM 707's sitting in front of my 1.2tl's at that moment!!

My HT 7.1 system consists of the full RTiA9 line, CSiA6 and 2 sets of FXlA6's..

I also own a set of CRS+'s and a set of Monitor 10's

The other set of Polk Speakers I regret letting go of are the RT55i's if a nice set ever crosses my path at the right time I will have them..

@Toolfan66 Everything in that pic is AWESOME looking, I imagine it sounds pretty damned good too lol.

    Are those your plush toys?

Not in for me, but in for my Dad... He's the one that started me down this awesome rabbit hole 30 years ago. So in that same theme, his setup: purchased new in '87 a pair of Monitor 5b mated to a JVC RX-950V digital receiver, SEA-33 10 band EQ, cassette player and direct drive turntable. I don't have access to pics of his stuff unfortunately.

In please... I am building a simple two channel setup for my father in law as a gift for his new home. These would be an amazing addition and be the primary speakers for his set.

    A great karma!
