Refurb... now we're talking nearly giving them away. 703s for a little more than $500!! That's a steal in my book. And with FREE shipping on top of that. No excuse not to pick these up now if you are the least bit interested.

If interest = cash then we would all be rich...but I agree that if you have the means and have been thinking about this is the time to act!

My refurb laim704c looked brand new to me. If I could justify a pair of 705s I would!

Man... If only I could fit the 706c... Looks like it's about an inch too high to fit in my cabinet without reconfiguring the top shelf. Is the 706 a worthy upgrade from the 704? I'm running LSi-7s for my mains, LSi-FX surrounds, and 700-LS in-ceiling rears.

my guess is, not really with your sub situation. But I have not compared the two...

Al, I had to mod my cabinet to get the 706c to fit, too. Dropped my shelf about an inch to get it in. Can't say vs the 704c though, as I was upgrading from CSi5.

Point is, if you want bigger center presence, and your only holdup is a shelf mod and it won't be too much trouble, given the deal opportunity, I'm clicking your Enable button.

Couple of posts re: your question

looking forward to your review of them, but let them burn in some too.

I felt the 703's were excellent music speakers for 2 channel, so when I had a chance to get the 705's I jumped on them mainly because of how much I liked the 703's which I'm now using as my surround speakers.

So when I am playing concert blu-ray's or DVD's I have the 705's as my front speakers and the 703's for surrounds which makes for some good music concert.

I will let them break in before making a decision. Im moving away from HT, but love stand mounters. Had quite a few good bookies in here to compare and have stayed with the CDM 1nt so far. Couldnt pass up that refurb price tho, as I have wanted to hear the 703s in my room for some time. Cant wait!

Why would the subs have anything to do with center channel performance when any center is typically going to be crossed at the same level? Isn't it? Subs only active below that for which a center is used? If anything, I'd think you'd need a larger center to match now.
