I'll admit it, I only got 1/3 on the first try. These are tough tracks that I was not familiar with (which is the point of the test).

Do I have to trade in my wanna-be audiophile card???

Most are trying to determine this difference on a computer, or desktop 'puter, Phone with ear buds.

In these scenarios, the difference is less noticeable. However, Spotify and other music services fail to realize that there are still vast amounts of people who use these streaming services on main stereo systems where those differences are easily heard.

I downloaded the Spotify app on my phone and played a few songs... I won't comment on compression... But the amount of artifact and straight up distortion in the higher frequency was awful.

I compared to some solid recordings I'm familiar with on YouTube and the differences were night and day...
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
