Personal Space....Some People Just Don't Get It...

Now I may sound like an old(er) person, but for as long as I can remember, I physically and mentally become uncomfortable when strangers are hovering near, by, around, or especially over me. Examples include theme parks, sporting events, on airplanes, waiting in line, and on and on. If there are 50 open seats other than the one in front or worse.....in back of me....use those freaking seats. Dammit....I'm tired of accommodating and living with the inconsiderate actions of others who don't understand the concept of personal space. Why should it be considered rude to ask someone to move if you were their first or not to stand directly behind you at an event....when the other party is clearly at fault. OK...I feel better now....is it just me?

    Oh, I get it.
Back when I used to work for a living, I showed a colleague a photo of our back yard.
He said, "You're not a people person, are you?"
I laughed and said, "Dave, you know me; you know the answer to that!"

What's worse is cell phone usage at entertainment events like concerts. Why go if you are buried in your phone the whole time? They always have the brightness set to blind too so no chance in not being distracted.

The last TOOL concert I went to they had signs, and staff walking around letting you know if you are caught using your phone you will be escorted out. It was nice looking around and not seeing everyone holding up their phones, they should do more of this..

Ever notice when you go to a grocery store and are looking at something on a shelf like baked beans and there can be nobody else in the aisle but you and another person and that person is automatically drawn to what you are looking at to the exclusion of everything else in the aisle and will come and stand 6 inches away from you seemingly confused by the vast array of baked bean choices?

    Wyoming or Vermont? ;)

    (they're numbers 1 and 2, respectively)

EDIT: oops, sorry I misread the previous post; I thought it said "one of the least populated states" :(
    That would be Wyoming, then.

No. when I go in the market I am like on a search and destroy mission. Get in achieve the objective and get out. I usually hiss at the cashier when she trys to exchange pleasantries.

Now there is a perfect example of a crotchety old man. Only difference between him and the others on this thread?

He drives a big ol' bucket truck slow in the fast lane. This thread is drawing 'em in like flies to a honey trap.

This is when flatulence from excessive consumption of said beans becomes very beneficial.
